Tutoring Style and/or Experience
I'm very interested in tutoring math. I have an undergraduate degree from Harvard University, a masters from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and currently concentrate on math courses at Columbia (and at Princeton in a prior semester).
My extensive education has given me great comfort in sharing and exchanging knowledge with others. Having directly benefited from excellent teaching, I strive to transmit the same excellence, dedication, and intelligence in my tutoring to others.
Throughout my extensive education, I've tutored and assisted many peers/students at graduate, undergraduate, high school, and junior high school levels. My extensive knowledge in math and English allow me to be flexible in addressing students' needs. I also pay strong attention in cultivating a student’s ability to think independently and creatively about problems, and challenge them to strive for excellence. My overall teaching style is highly agile, interactive and dedicated.
I've tutored students in their SAT, GMAT tests (including all relevant test areas), reviewed their homework assignments, helped them prepare college and graduate school applications, prepare writing samples (including creative writing, expository writing, professional presentation), edited papers, explained lecture notes, and helped them study for exams, etc.
At Harvard and MIT, I often organized study groups, and helped peers review projects/presentation, and complete team based research projects. Currently, at Columbia, I assist students at the Math Help Room session on subjects including calculus, linear algebra, trigonometry, geometry, etc.
I look forward to helping you advance learning.
