For all of my Spanish students, I believe it is not only necessary to study the language but the cultures of the Spanish-speaking countries. For every hour-long lesson, I begin with approx. 10 minutes of a cultural lesson (music, geography, politics, history, etc.) of a Spanish-speaking country and then move on to grammar, vocab, speaking, reading, writing, and/or whatever the student would like to focus on. I have tutored one-on-one and also in groups for all different ages and reasons (Spanish for work/business, for fun, for school/homework help). I have also been a substitute Spanish teacher, teacher assistant as an undergraduate, studied in Madrid for a semester while living with a family, and have been a co-team leader for an overseas college program in Costa Rica. My other travel experience includes Mexico three times as well as many other non-Spanish speaking countries all over the world. References can be provided upon request.
