I mainly deal with literature, reading comprehension and writing. I try to make a certain text interesting by asking the students to look up a brief biography of the author and the background of the text, so that they will understand the essence of the text. I exemplify parallel situations in normal life so that the students get a clear picture of what the writer wants them to see. I ask them to write up reviews and criticism of the work that they have read in the class, which in turn shapes their writing and expression. While reading a certain text, I emphasize on reading aloud the text at least twice in the classroom. This helps in familiarizing the text.

I have taught in Oakridge International School for one year. I used to teach at the high school level. My subjects were literature, reading and writing.
