Tutor Personal Information

My personal love for everything academic began at an early age. With an undergraduate degree in NueroScience (Psychobiology), my resulting career experience has journeyed from private school instructor and curriculum writer to public arenas; I have worked as a teacher, private tutor, and interpreter for the gifted, special needs, and children with IEPs (including ADD/ADHD, developmentally delayed, and dyslexic). My areas of expertise and preference are mathematics, sciences, and languages. Post-graduate studies have broadened my scope to include Greek and theological studies.

In addition to my professional experience that spans over 15 years, we have intimate experience with teaching and learning in our own home school of six children. We have relied on a centuries-old approach that is literature-based and incorporates much of the lost arts and humanities that today’s educational standards seem to miss entirely. Eloquently constructed and exquisitely presented by Charlotte Mason, this approach taps into the innate ability that all children have to learn. A large part of our study is devoted to classical subjects that will inevitably gird them for later advanced studies in all subject matters. Classical subjects include Greek, Latin, Plutarch (ancient Roman historical writings), Shakespeare, literature, composer and art studies, poetry, Bulfinch’s Age of Fable, among others.
