The kind of style I use when teaching a student a subject, especially a subject that I am very knowledgeable is: I like to make sure the student understands what he or she read or wrote. I like to know what difficulties that they are having in a particular subject. Be thorough in explaining and understanding making sure the student understands. And that the student really get what is being taught. I don't like for a student to go away not really understanding what they have learned. I try to find ways for a student to understand. I don't just go through a subject. As far as reading is concerned, to understand what was read. To ask questions, to get a student's opinion of what was read. To get a student to write down something about what was read.
