Tutoring Style and/or Experience
I have worked closely with many high school students over the years as a teacher and tutor. I taught high school history, economics, and government for seven years in California and in international schools in Switzerland, Spain, China, and Brazil; furthermore, I have had extensive experience with both the Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) Programs. I have tutored students for the SAT and can tutor for the GRE as well, having just taken it (Oct 2007 scores: 780 Verbal, 690 Math).
I have always tried to create a relaxed, cooperative, rewarding and ultimately productive environment to foster student learning. It has been my experience that establishing mutual respect between student and teacher is the most conducive and effective atmosphere in which learning can take place.
