I am an enthusiastic and skilled tutor who delights in coming up with creative strategies to make learning more enjoyable. My tutoring experiences have included working with learners of all ages. I believe strongly in engaging my students' intrinsic motivation to learn, and in tailoring my instruction to match their learning style. I have an MA in Learning Sciences from Northwestern, so I have studied pedagogical best-practices and cognitive theory, in addition to my informal knowledge gained from working with students.

As for subject areas: I have a BA in Comparative Literature, and am qualified to tutor learners of all ages in English (literature and reading comprehension, writing and composition, as well as test preparation for the verbal portion of standardized tests such as the SAT, GRE, and LSAT). For younger students, I also enjoy tutoring pre-high school math and science, and am especially fond of history and social studies.
