I am a certified Special Education teacher with 3 years of experience in a school for students diagnosed with ADD/ADHD and/or Asperger's Syndrome. Prior to that, I tutored and did homework help in after school programs for inner city youth. The areas I have focused on for tutoring have been reading, writing and math. I am open to trying various different methods until I find something that works for an individual child. I like to incorporate student interest, movement, music, games and art if necessary or appropriate to the lesson and goals. I believe learning should be fun even in a tutoring session, but at the same time, goal oriented so progress can be made. I like to find out where a child is struggling and set goals and design instruction from there. I am available for tutoring, homework help, or simply empowering a student with disabilities to be self-sufficient and academically productive.
