I currently teach writing lab at a local private academy. We use the 6 + Traits writing principles to advance students to successful writing. I focus on using literature to assist students in identifying their writing strengths and areas which need improvement. I also model excellent writing traits as well as poor writing traits so students can learn to rate their own writing ability. Rereading, revision and editing typically overlooked but necessary activities in ensuring that the student pass the FCAT. So, I help students learn to add these activities to their normal writing process.
