Tutoring Style and/or Experience
Because of my education, experience, and love of learning & teaching, you can rest assured that I will give individualized instruction to your child. It's important to nourish one's strengths while helping him/her become more confident in his/her more difficult areas of study. Therefore, I plan the tutoring around your child’s strengths & weaknesses and personal situation (i.e. goals of the tutoring, school assignments for the next week, upcoming ACT test, etc). I can also work with you to make an organized homework/assignment plan that helps you succeed. I can provide some of my own teaching materials, or I can work with your school’s homework or a curriculum of your choice.

I received my Bachelor’s (and graduated Summa Cum Laude) from University of Louisiana at Lafayette in May 2005; I had a double major in English and Spanish, with a minor in History. I am now an English PhD student at Louisiana State University. I have taught Freshman Composition, Argumentative Writing, Intro to Drama, and British Literature courses.
In Lafayette and Baton Rouge, I have babysat, worked as a preschool teacher, worked at a local Mother’s Day Out program, tutored a high school student in Spanish, worked as a tutor in the UL English Department Writing Center, led ACT Prep workshops for a College of Arts & Sciences program for high school students, babysat for professors’ and colleagues’ children, and taught undergraduate composition and literature courses at LSU. That means I am happy working with individuals or groups, any age levels, and in many subjects. |
