Tutor Personal Information

My tutoring experience over the past years has included recent work as an independently contracted tutor, working with all grade levels and subjects. I trained with Teach For America and taught 5th grade in Brooklyn, NY, where I learned to lesson plan, assess, and teach in accordance with state standards, as well as how to encourage creative learning in multiple styles. I worked at a higher level as a Writing Tutor for UC Berkeley for three years.

My style is open, communicative, and feed-back oriented. It incorporates humor, analogies, and engaging learning; I believe my job is to help guide a student toward academic independence and success. The strategies and skills I use are frequently transferable from one subject to the next. Above all, I enjoy helping others develop a love for learning by making education more accessible and enjoyable.
