In our one-on-one sessions, I can take the time to individualized each lesson and use a variety of methods to make sure that my students accomplish their goals. Most of them see improvement within a few weeks, so their confidence--and grades--increase exponentially. Students who have also worked with me to prepare for SAT/ACT and other entrance exams, report significantly improved scores.
I also proofread academic papers/documents (including reference citation) checking for errors in spelling, grammar, punctuation and style, and offer editing suggestions through email.
About TailorMade Tutoring: I began tutoring because I noticed that so many of the students in my classrooms were becoming discouraged trying to live up to the expectations or work with the limitations of our mass schooling system. To teach 30+ students at once is economical, but can’t be ideal for the most students because there is such a diversity of learning styles. Many students consequently feel stupid--not because they are, but simply because they are struggling to learn in a way that is unnatural for them. Because I teach one-on-one, every lesson can be tailormade for each of my students based on their level, the lesson goal or information to be covered, and the current learning style or preference of the client.
