Tutor Personal Information

I have worked in a tutoring program for two years. This progam features a variety of students, from students who come from troubled homes to students who simply need extra help in a subject. My area of specialty is Language Arts. I have worked mainly with middle school students for specific one on one tutoring. However, for three years I have also worked with 2nd graders at a private Christian schooling offering additional in classroom one on one help. When I tutor students I try to do it in a way that they will actually remember what they have learned. If this means I need to act out something, use a whiteboard, worksheets, computer, I will use whatever is necessary to help the student truly understand the subject. There are so many ways to use technology to help advance a student as well. I am versatile and as an up and coming teacher (one year to go!) I am learning different formats and styles to teach effectively. Moreover, I also work with high school students one on one if needed. I love working with students and seeing a student come to an understanding of a subject, especially English and Language Arts.
