I am a full-time professional tutor with a great deal of experience in both individual and group atmospheres. My tutor expertise includes Math (Pre-K to Calculus), English (concentrating on essay composition, sentence structure, grammar, reading, and language arts), ACT/SAT test preparation, and Economics. I also tutor any subject that mainly requires study skills and memorization, such as History, Psychology, and Biology/Anatomy. In addition, I am a study skills/time management coach. My easygoing approach to students’ difficulties along with my study/life skills coaching has helped students achieve unmeasured success. I regularly help students raise their grades by 2 or more letters. Recently, I helped a failing geometry student score an A- on his final and pass the course with a B. While living in California, I was employed by the San Diego Board of Education as a tutor for the AVID program, a group style tutoring initiative to assist high school students with difficulties and increase their motivation to learn. Since my return to Knoxville, I have been tutoring U.T. student athletes as an employee of the University of Tennessee. I also sub for Knox County Schools and a local private elementary school when my schedule permits. In addition, I am the founder of Bob’s Tutor Service – a service that helps prepare learners of all levels for the challenges of tomorrow. I am a devoted husband and step-father, and in my spare time, I enjoy jogging, reading science fiction novels, and studying advanced calculus.
