To Whom It May Concern:

My name is Matt Klima, and I am searching for an opportunity to tutor students after school and on weekends. I am twenty-two years old, and, last May, I graduated from George Mason University with a double major in anthropology and history, a 3.57 GPA, and a total of 137 credits. In addition, I successfully completed several literature courses that aided me in honing my ability to read critically and write well.

Since early December, 2007, I have been substitute teaching in Fairfax County and Alexandria. Through this experience, I have learned how to successfully teach middle school students and high school students in many subject areas. In college, I learned advanced skills in analysis, research, and writing, yet I also feel confident when teaching basic grammar and math. In short, I feel that I have the passion and the skills necessary to successfully teach students with specific needs. Over the past two and a half months, my fondest experiences have been my one-on-one interactions with individual students who require special attention.

Lastly, I believe that my relative youth is a strong asset and that this trait, in conjunction with my personality, endows me with the ability to reach certain students more successfully than many other educators.
