I received my first tutoring job in elementary school and immediately developed a passion for working one-on-one with students. Since then I have educated children and adults as a tutor, a respite worker, a volunteer teacher, and a substitute. I spent three years developing curriculum programs for preschool children across the United States. As a college student I volunteered at home and abroad as an educator, tutoring African refugees here in Arizona and teaching English classes to students in Lima, Peru.
In 2005, I became interested in the public administration aspect of education and I worked as an intern on the Arizona House of Representatives Education Committee where I assisted legislators in implementing and creating policy for the State of Arizona. In 2006, I completed a Masters degree in Public Administration at Arizona State University, emphasizing my studies in educational policy. The following year I completed a second Masters degree in Education.
