My Tutoring Approach:

An indiviualized plan is initially created between parent, student, other instructor(s), and myself. It is for the purpose of tracking and providing flexibility to adjust learning approaches that facilitate the students highest potential of learning. It is also critical that students realize that I am easily and readily accessible. Therefore, I have provided an easy access to the Groupboard where we can exchange our lessons and messages conveniently.

Students are encouraged to contact me for any questions we have, and ideas are sought from other participants in the student's learning process.

A critical tool I use for remedial learning is that of referencing. The student and I will develop tools they are able to create or print off from a lesson whereby it is placed into a subject reference binder for future use. Tools such as larger rolls of paper to use as a bulletin board can be developed for visualizing and, therefore, remembering specific concepts. The tactile domain is also critical for connection to certain learning patterns.

Finally, I exhibit a belief with all students that they CAN learn and everyone has a potential that can be reached and will also be satifying to them in terms of being able to be a part of a healthy interactive community.
