During college, I worked with inner-city kids who were not performing to their maximum potential. Since college, I have tutored kids in the neighborhood who come form middle to upper-middle class families. I like working one-on-one (or small groups 3-4) because I find most of the people who are underperforming need alot of personal attention. I find that giving several examples of the same types of problems helps to reinforce the understanding. Being patient and encouraging always helps to build the students' confidence and in turn increases my success rate with them.
