I have tutored many students throughout my masters program. I am in the process of receiving my masters in education as well as a multiple subject teaching credential. I have tutored students who are struggling readers, and I find that the most important thing is to instill confidence and make them feel comfortable reading. In addition, I think it is crucial that we encourage students to LOVE to read. I have also tutored ESL students, and I feel it is important to allow these individuals just to feel comfortable with the tutor and instill confidence as well as academic success.
