I'm energetic, enthusiastic, and fun! I have experience tutoring basic academic skills such as math and reading, as well as helping students with homework and studying. I am enthusiastic about learning and have had success engaging students into wanting to learn more about the world around them.
I also like to integrate technology into teaching by using my I-pad tablet to motivate and excite children in learning! I have dozens of literacy applications and educational resources on my I-pad that I sometimes use in tutoring session!

I am currently the recruitment captain of the America Reads Program at C.W. Post in which I go to local elementary schools and tutor struggling readers in literacy. I have taken two- semester classes in how to conduct a literacy tutoring session. I have tutored at both Sea Cliff Elementary and Deasy Elementary, in Glen Cove. I have also volunteered at the Boys and Girls Club in Glen Cove to help under privileged children with their homework.
Other classes I have taken at C.W. Post include, philosophy of Education, Creating responsible Inclusive classrooms, curriculum and assessment, methods of teaching science, literacy, and am currently enrolled in methods of teaching math. I have tutored small groups of students as well as individuals. |
