Greetings!

I am qualified, have experienced with, and feel confident in tutoring both middle and high school students in biology, chemistry, AP sciences, and study skills.

I have a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) in secondary education, and I just finished a second master's degree (M. Ed) at Harvard Graduate School of Education with a focus in Mind, Brain & Education. From my experiences teaching high school chemistry in the Chicago Public Schools, I grew interested in studying how young students naturally perceive and understand the world around them. From this, I hope to help support science teachers in addressing common misconceptions in complex scientific concepts.

Over the three years I taught in Chicago, I have encountered a diverse range of learners. I tend to use a lot of analogies to help students relate difficult concepts to real-life experiences; provide ample amount of practice, and I have many resources available to meet the needs of my students. I graduated from Mount Holyoke College with an Bachelor's of Arts degree in Biology and Chemistry. I have a strong foundation in college-level sciences.

As a side note, I've done extremely well in the statistics sequence at Harvard and feel confident in helping students address substantive research questions using Stata statistical software. I can tutor students in how to best fit regression models to real data, assessing model fit, and critically model assumptions made to fit the model to data.
