Tutor Personal Information

I am an English instructor with over eleven years of teaching experience. I teach literature, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, basic English skills, and SAT/ACT/PRAXIS test prep. I graduated from NYU with a B.A. in English Literature and Creative Writing and completed an M.A. in Global Affairs and Public Policy. I taught high school students in prominent private schools and college students in Minneapolis.

In addition to teaching, I also tutor students one-on-one. I do plenty of standardized test preparation with a focus on improving vocabulary, reading comprehension, and writing skills. Some students come to me with specific concerns involving their English and grammar skills, English coursework, and research papers.

I am a voracious reader with a great interest in contemporary literature; however, I also have a comprehensive background in the classics and period-based literature. When I am not reading—or running after my two-year-old son—I am also writing. I have publications in various literary journals and magazines. I am also the recipient of the Madalyn Lamont Award in Writing.
