Tutoring Style and/or Experience
Who am I? In 2010, I graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a double major from Randolph-Macon College. During my four years as a writing tutor, I have worked with dozens of students, ranging from middle school-aged to adults. I was the editor-in-chief of my college newspaper, I have published my undergraduate research twice, and I haven't received a grade lower than an A- on a paper since grade school. I worked as a Publications Intern at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, and I am currently with an investment publishing house in Rockville, MD.
Why a writing tutor? Writing is one of two primary ways that we communicate with each other. Whether it is for a college application essay, a resume, or an advertisement, writing skills can be the deciding factor in whether you get the acceptance letter, the job, or the client. If you are looking to improve your writing, a few hours a week with me can make all the difference.
How much? My rate is $15-20/hour, depending on driving expenses. I am willing to work remotely (online and via the phone) for $10/hour.
Where? I would be happy to travel to an agreed location.
When? I am available anytime after 7:00 p.m. on Monday-Friday. I would recommend sessions between 1 and 2 hours long, but I am flexible.
What other services? I also have significant experience tutoring students in Spanish, Economics and Finance.
