Tutor Personal Information

I have served in many teaching roles over the past ten years. I was a middle-school English teacher for seven years, a writing instructor, a formal writing tutor, and a volunteer tutor in a homework center for underprivileged kids. Also, I recently expanded my teaching focus to include early childhood education through an internship with the Somerville Public Schools. I currently write lessons and assessments for educational publishing companies and provide editing services to individuals.

Whether my students are just learning to read and write or are analytical readers and gifted wordsmiths, my goal is to take them to the next level. I develop reading and writing programs based on each student’s learning style, skill level, and interests, and I am skilled in accommodating English language learners and students with special needs. I enjoy the challenge of crafting lessons that capture my students’ attention, and I work to make the learning process both effective and fun!

I am in the process of moving to Columbus from Boston and will be available in person from August 1st, 2011. If you would like to get started before then, we can arrange online sessions through Google video chat or Skype.
