I really love science. Too often I have seen the subject matter made unnecessarily complicated, dry, boring, and irrelevant. It does not have to be that way. I am passionate about helping people discover how fun and exciting science can be! I often use analogies to help explain complicated concepts, relating something known to the unknown. For example, I've explained the complex process of DNA replication, transcription and translation using the analogy of baking brownies from a recipe. Just because a subject appears to be complex, doesn't mean it is out of reach to anyone. I've taught DNA structure and function to 1st graders, and acid-base chemistry to 3rd graders!
