I am Dr. Arjun Kalbag and I have a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Purdue University and a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Washington State University.

I have 3 years University level teaching experience. I have also been a Princeton Review MCAT Physics instructor. In addition I have tutored over 50 students in the past two years in courses as diverse as algebra, calculus, econometrics, statistics and AP Physics. I have coached several students in standardized college and graduate school entrance tests such as the SAT, ACT, GRE and GMAT. I also conduct tutoring via Skype for those people who have limited means of transportation.

In addition I have an excellent track record in standardized tests. My scores include
SAT (2001): 1490 out of 1600
SAT Physics subject test (2001): 800 out of 800
SAT Math IIC subject test (2001): 770 out of 800
GRE (2004): 1510 out of 1600 and 5.5 out of 6.0 in Analytical Writing

My teaching philosophy is what sets me apart from other tutors.

1. I believe in helping students understand *key* concepts rather than relying on memorization.

2. I pay attention to my student's learning style and adapt my teaching accordingly.

3. I am patient, and a good listener. I use visual and graphical methods and different teaching methods to help you understand "difficult" concepts.

5. Above all I am concerned with my student's success and do not teach with one eye on the clock.
