Children are born artists. They are naturally curious, imaginative, inventive and intuitive. Art gives children the opportunity to explore those areas in a fun, yet safe environment.

Art also helps children grow and develop through creative thinking and feeling. I think, for most children, art is about the process, and not about the end product.

So in the process of producing art, children learn critical thinking and problem solving skills. Early art experiences don’t have to equal academic genius. It’s giving the kids the chance to express their creativity and learn how to think out of the box.

I teach children all of the basic fundamentals of drawing, painting, and sculpture. Open-ended projects are used to let children explore his/her creativity.

My experience as an art and computer educator as well as professional graphic designer has provided me the skills needed to tutor children in art and computer. Children choose the subject matter and media they would like to use; I guide them on technique and style to help nurture their skills and self-esteem when it comes to producing art or working on the computer.
