Hello everyone! ¡Hola a todo el mundo!

Looking for a tutor in the BERKELEY AREA who understands the need for flexibility and can cater to YOUR specific needs? I have three years of experience tutoring students all over the country of varying ages, economic/ethnic backgrounds. I also have experience working with students with mental and physical disabilities/behavioral disorders, and understand the importance of honing educational techniques to become effective for these students. I am dedicated to the students I tutor as not only academic achievers, but as people who deserve success!

Some of my tutoring experience includes:
-Tutoring high-risk, low-income, ELL first, fourth and fifth-graders on core subjects such as reading, writing and math (San Jose, CA)

-Facilitating an after-school homework-help program for first and fifth grades (San Jose, CA)

-Tutoring and aiding students of all elementary grades in an ELL (English-Language-Learners) after-school program (Honolulu, HI)

-Serving as a paraprofessional aide for racially/economically mixed students in kindergarten, second, third, fourth and fifth grade classrooms (Galesburg, IL)

I am CERTIFIED as a NCLB-Qualified Paraprofessional by the state of IL. (HOWEVER, I am no longer living in IL--this is merely where I received the certificate.)

I am also an alum of Knox College where I received a 3.9 GPA, and was employed as a tutor to an adult student with dyslexia.

My specialties include VERBAL support in the elementary grades. Students struggling with reading comprehension, fluency, vocabulary, creative writing, or spelling/grammar will find themselves with the best possible tutor that Berkeley can offer! I am also able to tutor in math up to a 6th grade level, and Spanish up to a high-school level.
