Style: I teach problem solving concepts by example. I use specific problems, from graded homework or test questions or from supplementary materials, to teach general concepts. In the way the student comes to understand the theory and how it is applied to real problems.

Background: I am a scientist at a national research institution. I have a Master of Science degree in physics from New Mexico Tech. I also hold a Bachelor of Science degree in physics, with an option in astrophysics and a minor in mathematics from New Mexico Tech. I was formerly a physics laboratory instructor at the college level, and I have tutored college physics students in weekly drop-in help sessions.

I tutor students in person; I do not tutor online or over the phone.
