Tutoring Style and/or Experience
Individual tutoring is an important tool that can make a significant impact on a student, and I enjoy helping students to reach their goals. I strive to fit the different needs and learning styles of students, which I believe can be achieved through commitment, patience, mutual respect, and problem solving.
I began tutoring in 1999 as a college student, and assisted my peers in Calculus, Chemistry, and Genetics classes at Long Island University in NY. I developed my teaching experience in graduate school by volunteering for an after-school science program for middle school students and an oceanography competition for high school students in Corvallis, OR for 3 years. I also taught the biological section of an Intro to Oceanography course for 2 terms at Oregon State. Currently, I am a sea-going marine science instructor, and I will be available here until March of 2010.
I look forward to hearing from you. Let me know if you have any further questions, and we can schedule an initial assessment session.
