Tutor Personal Information

I am a female tutor with much experience under my belt. I began tutoring first grade students in seventh grade at a local advancement center. In eighth grade, I progressed to tutoring two second graders in science, math, reading, and spelling. Throughout high school, I tutored various students in English.

I also dedicated three months to teaching math, reading, and writing at various grade levels at an enrichment center.

I have excellent language skills and extensive knowledge of classical languages (Greek and Latin) so I tend to review vocabulary and word roots frequently while tutoring a student in writing and reading. It helps establish a strong base for the student so that it can facilitate and strengthen the learning process.

Additionally, aside from having graduated from a 4-year prestigious university with a degree in English and classical languages, I continue to write for several websites and publications.

I am highly interested in education and assisting children who want nothing more than to develop strong spelling, vocab, and reading skills.

Rates could definitely be negotiated though since I understand that during rigid times like these, little extras like tutoring could cut into a budget. My only firm request is to limit the number of children I'm tutoring to 2(better learning happens that way) and to hold tutoring sessions at a local library or quieter local center since I've discovered the setting to be much more appropriate.
